[AND the tribe of] Thamud gave the lie to [one of God's] message-hearers 141 When their brother Salih (Saleh) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? 142 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 143 so fear God and obey me. 144 And I do not ask you any reward for it; my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds: 145 Do you think that you will be left secure [forever] -- 146 In gardens and fountains, 147 sown fields and palmtrees, with slender spathes. 148 And you hew houses out of the mountains exultingly; 149 So fear Allah and obey me. 150 and obey not the commandment of the prodigal 151 and spread mischief in the land rather than set things right." 152 They said, 'Thou art merely one of those that are bewitched; 153 you are no different from a mortal like us. So produce a sign if you are truthful." 154 He said, 'This is a she-camel; to her a draught and to you a draught, on a day appointed, 155 Do not touch her with malice so that punishment of a dreadful day seizes you' 156 Yet they hamstrung her, and in the morning they were remorseful, 157 For they were seized by the torment. Verily there was a sign in this, but most of them did not believe. 158 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 159

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
