Thamood, belied their Messengers. 141 Recall when their brother Salih said to them: "Have you no fear?" 142 I am a trustworthy Messengers sent to you. 143 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 144 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 145 "Will ye be left secure, in (the enjoyment of) all that ye have here? 146 amidst [these] gardens and springs 147 And green crops (fields etc.) and date-palms with soft spadix. 148 "And ye carve houses out of (rocky) mountains with great skill. 149 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 150 "And follow not the bidding of those who are extravagant,- 151 "Who make mischief in the land, and mend not (their ways)." 152 They replied, "Surely you are bewitched. 153 thou art naught but a mortal, like us; then produce a sign, if thou art one of the truthful.' 154 He said: yonder is a she-camel; to her a drink, and to you a drink, each on a day known. 155 And do not touch her with harm, lest you be seized by the punishment of a terrible day." 156 But they hamstrung her, and in the morning they were remorseful, 157 for the suffering [predicted by Salih,] befell them [then and there].
