Then the people of Lot rejected the messengers. 160 Behold, their brother Lut said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 161 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 162 Have fear of God and obey me. 163 “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” 164 What, do you come to male beings, 165 keeping yourselves aloof from all the [lawful] spouses whom your Sustainer has created for you? Nay, but you are people who transgress all bounds of what is right!" 166 They said: "O Lot! If you do not desist, you will be one of those expelled (from our towns)." 167 He said, "I certainly hate what you practice. 168 My Lord, save me and my family from their evil doings." 169 So We delivered him and his household all. 170 except an old woman who was among those that stayed behind. 171 We destroyed the others 172 We rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): and evil was the shower on those who were admonished (but heeded not)! 173 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 174 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
