The people of Lut belied the sent ones. 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear God? 161 I am for you an honest Messenger. 162 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 163 And I ask of you no hire therefor; my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 164 Do you approach males among the worlds 165 leaving aside those whom Allah has created for you as your mates. Nay, you are a people that has transgressed all limits." 166 They said: "O Lot! If you do not desist, you will be one of those expelled (from our towns)." 167 He said: Surely I am of those who utterly abhor your doing; 168 (And prayed:) "O Lord, save me and my family from what they do." 169 We saved him and all of his family 170 save an old woman among those that tarried; 171 then We destroyed the others, 172 And We showered a rain upon them; so what a wretched rain for those who were warned! 173 Surely in this there is a sign: but most of them would not believe: 174 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 175
