The people of Lot denied the messengers 160 when their brother Lot said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 161 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 162 Have fear of God and obey me. 163 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 164 "Go you in unto the males of the 'Alamin (mankind), 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your wives? Nay, you are a trespassing people!" 166 They said, 'If thou givest not over, Lot, thou shalt assuredly be one of the expelled.' 167 He said: verily I am of those who abhor your work. 168 "O my Lord! deliver me and my family from such things as they do!" 169 Then We delivered him and all his family 170 Except an old woman among those who remained behind. 171 We then destroyed the others. 172 We rained upon them a rain, and evil is the rain (of stones) on those that are warned. 173 In this there is an evidence of the Truth, but many of them did not have any faith. 174 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
