The People of the Woods denied the Noble Messengers. 176 When Shu'ayb said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 177 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 178 I ask of you no wage for this; 179 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ Give full measure and do not cheat; 181 Weigh on an even balance. 182 and do not deliver short, and do not go about creating mischief in the land, 183 but be conscious of Him who has created you, just as [He created] those countless generations of old!" 184 They said: You are only of those deluded; 185 thou art naught but a mortal, like us; indeed, we think that thou art one of the liars. 186 So cause to fall upon us fragments of the sky, if you should be of the truthful." 187 Answered [Shu'ayb]: "My Sustainer knows fully well what you are doing." 188 Then they belied him; wherefore there laid hold of them the torment of day of shadow. Verily it was the torment of a Mighty Day. 189 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 190 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 191
