The companions of the thicket denied the messengers 176 When Shu'ayb said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 177 I am for you a faithful Messenger, so fear you God, and obey you me. 178 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 179 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ Fill up the measure and do not diminish the goods of people, 181 and weigh with the straight scale, 182 and diminish not the goods of the people, and do not mischief in the earth, working corruption. 183 And fear He who created you and the former creation." 184 They said: "You are no more than one of those who have been bewitched, 185 You are only a human being like ourselves. Indeed we think you are a liar. 186 "Now cause a piece of the sky to fall on us, if thou art truthful!" 187 He said: "My Lord knows best what ye do." 188 They rejected him, and then had to suffer the punishment of a day of overshadowing gloom. That was indeed the punishment of an awful day. 189 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 190 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 191
