The dwellers of the Thicket belied their Messengers. 176 Shu'ayb asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 177 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 178 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 179 And I ask of you no wage for it; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ Give a full measure and be not of those who diminish; 181 "And weigh with the true and straight balance. 182 and do not deprive people of what is rightfully theirs; and do not act wickedly on earth by spreading corruption, 183 And fear He who created you and the former creation." 184 They said: thou art but of the bewitched; 185 “You are just a human like us, and indeed we consider you a liar.” 186 But in case you are speaking the truth, then make a segment of the sky to fall upon us." 187 He said, "My Lord is most knowing of what you do." 188 But they cried him lies; then there seized them the chastisement of the Day of Shadow; assuredly it was the chastisement of a dreadful day. 189 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 190 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 191
