The dwellers of the forest also rejected the Messengers. 176 Shu'ayb asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 177 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 178 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 179 And I ask of you no wage for it; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ Fill up the measure, and be not cheaters, 181 "And weigh with scales true and upright. 182 and do not diminish the goods of the people, and do not make mischief in the earth, working corruption. 183 Fear He who created you, and the generations of the ancient' 184 They said: You are only of those deluded; 185 You are only a human being like ourselves. Indeed we think you are a liar. 186 Therefore cause a portion of the heaven to come down upon us, if you are one of the truthful. 187 He said, “My Lord is Well Aware of what you do.” 188 But they denied him, so there came on them the retribution of the day of gloom. Lo! it was the retribution of an awful day. 189 In this there is an evidence of the Truth, but many of them did not have any faith. 190 And most surely your Lord is Mighty, the Merciful. 191
