The dwellers of Al-Aiyka [near Madyan (Midian)] belied the Messengers. 176 Recall, when Shuayb said to them: "Have you no fear? 177 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 178 Have fear of God and obey me. 179 I do not ask any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ "Give just measure, and cause no loss (to others by fraud). 181 Weigh on an even balance. 182 And do not wrong men of their things, and do not act corruptly in the earth, making mischief. 183 and have fear of Him Who created you and the earlier generations." 184 They said, “You are under a magic spell.” 185 "You are but a human being like us and verily, we think that you are one of the liars! 186 Then make fragments of the heaven fall upon us, if thou art of the truthful. 187 He said, "My Lord has full knowledge of all your actions." 188 And they denied him, so the punishment of the day of the black cloud seized them. Indeed, it was the punishment of a terrible day. 189 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 190 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 191
