The People of the Woods denied the Noble Messengers. 176 Recall, when Shuayb said to them: "Have you no fear? 177 I am a trustworthy messenger to you: 178 So fear Allah, and obey me. 179 my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 180 ۞ "[Always] give full measure, and be not among those who [unjustly] cause loss [to others]; 181 Weigh on an even balance. 182 and do not diminish the goods of the people, and do not make mischief in the earth, working corruption. 183 So fear Him Who created you and the former generations. 184 They said, 'Thou art merely one of those that are bewitched; 185 Thou art but a mortal like us, and lo! we deem thee of the liars. 186 "So cause a piece of the heaven to fall on us, if you are of the truthful!" 187 He said: My Lord knows best what you do. 188 They rejected him, and then had to suffer the punishment of a day of overshadowing gloom. That was indeed the punishment of an awful day. 189 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 190 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 191
