And verily it is a revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 The Trustworthy Spirit brought it down. (Angel Jibreel – peace be upon him.) 193 To thy heart and mind, that thou mayest admonish. 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 And verily, [the essence of] this [revelation] is indeed found in the ancient books of divine wisdom [as well]. 196 Is it not a token for them that the doctors of the Children of Israel know it? 197 And if We had revealed it unto one of any other nation than the Arabs, 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Even so We have caused it to enter into the hearts of the sinners, 200 who will not believe in it, until they see the painful chastisement 201 It will come upon them suddenly when they are not expecting it. 202 Then they will say: Are we to be reprieved? 203 Do they want to hasten Our torment? 204 Seest thou? If We do let them enjoy (this life) for a few years, 205 And afterwards comes to them that (punishment) which they had been promised! 206 of what avail would their past enjoyment be to them? 207 Never have We destroyed a town without sending down messengers to warn it, 208 as a reminder from Us: We are never unjust. 209 It was not the satans who brought it down: 210 And it behoves them not, and they have not the power to do (it). 211 Verily far from hearing are they removed. 212 So invoke not with Allah another ilah (god) lest you be among those who receive punishment. 213 And O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), warn your closest relatives. 214 Lower thy wing to those who follow thee, being believers; 215 So if they do not obey you, then say, “Indeed I am unconcerned with what you do.” 216 And put thy trust on the Exalted in Might, the Merciful,- 217 Who watches you when you stand up. 218 And your movements among those who bow in homage to God. 219 for, verily, He alone is all-hearing, all-knowing! 220 Should I tell you to whom the satans come? 221 They descend on every lying, wicked person, 222 Who give ear, and most of them are liars. 223 And as for the poets -- it is the misled who follow them. 224 Have you not seen that they wander distract in every valley, 225 And they say what they do not do, 226 Save those who believe and do good works, and remember Allah much, and vindicate themselves after they have been wronged. Those who do wrong will come to know by what a (great) reverse they will be overturned! 227
