This, (Quran), is certainly the revelation from the Lord of the Universe. 192 Which the trustworthy Ruh [Jibrael (Gabriel)] has brought down; 193 into your heart, so that you may be a warner, 194 In the perspicuous Arabic tongue. 195 Its news was also mentioned in the ancient Books. 196 Is it not a Sign to them that the Learned of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)? 197 And if we had revealed it to any of the foreigners 198 they would still not have believed in it. 199 Thus it passes through the hearts of the criminals. 200 They will not believe in it to the extent that they see the painful punishment. 201 But when it comes upon them suddenly, taking them unawares, 202 Then they will say: "Shall we be respited?" 203 Do they wish to hasten Our punishment? 204 Think! If We let them enjoy life for some years, 205 and then what they were promised comes to them, 206 It will profit them not that they enjoyed (this life)! 207 We never destroyed any town without first sending to them warning and guidance. 208 As a reminder; and never have We been unjust. 209 The satans did not bring down this (Clear Book), 210 It is not meet for them, nor is it in their power, 211 Lo! verily they are banished from the hearing. 212 So call on no other god but God, lest you are condemned to torment; 213 Warn your close relatives 214 And be kind and humble to the believers who follow you. 215 And if they disobey thee, say thou: verily I am quit of that which ye work. 216 And rely upon the Exalted in Might, the Merciful, 217 who sees thee when thou standest 218 and when thou turnest about among those who bow. 219 Verily He! He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 [And] shall I tell you upon whom it is that those evil spirits descend? 221 They descend on every lying (one who tells lies), sinful person. 222 They listen eagerly, but most of them are liars. 223 As for poets, only the wayward follow them. 224 Hast thou not seen how they stray in every valley, 225 and say things which they do not act upon, 226 except those who believed and acted righteously and remembered Allah much, and when they themselves were subjected to wrong, they exacted retribution no more than to the extent of the wrong? Soon will the wrong-doers know the end that they shall reach. 227
