This, (Quran), is certainly the revelation from the Lord of the Universe. 192 It has been revealed through the trustworthy Spirit 193 into your heart, so that you may be a warner, 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 And verily, it (the Quran, and its revelation to Prophet Muhammad SAW) is (announced) in the Scriptures [i.e. the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] of former people. 196 Is it not a Sign to them - (to wit, the Makkans) - that the learned men of the Children of Israel know that? 197 Had We revealed it to a man of obscure tongue 198 And had he recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 In this wise have We made way for it into the hearts of the culprits. 200 they will not believe in it until they see the grievous punishment. 201 But when it comes upon them suddenly, taking them unawares, 202 Then they will say: Shall we be respited? 203 So do they wish to hasten Our punishment? 204 Do you not see that even if We give them respite for years 205 and then what they were promised comes to them, 206 of what avail to them will be all their past enjoyments? 207 Never have We destroyed a town without sending down messengers to warn it, 208 to admonish them. We have never been unjust. 209 And the devils have not brought the revelation down. 210 it behoves them not, neither are they able. 211 Verily, they have been removed far from hearing it. 212 So do not call on any deity besides God, lest you incur His punishment. 213 And warn thy tribe of near kindred, 214 And lower thy wing (in kindness) unto those believers who follow thee. 215 then, if they disobey thee, say, 'I am quit of that you do.' 216 Put your trust in the Almighty, the Most Merciful, 217 who sees thee when thou standest [alone,] 218 And your movement among those who prostrate. 219 For it is He Who heareth and knoweth all things. 220 [And] shall I tell you upon whom it is that those evil spirits descend? 221 They descend upon every sinful liar. 222 They incline their ears, and most of them are liars. 223 As for poets, only the wayward follow them. 224 Art thou not aware that they roam confusedly through all the valleys [of words and thoughts,] 225 preaching what they do not practice. 226 Save those who believe and do good works, and remember Allah much, and vindicate themselves after they have been wronged. Those who do wrong will come to know by what a (great) reverse they will be overturned! 227
