This, (Quran), is certainly the revelation from the Lord of the Universe. 192 The Faithful Spirit has descended with it, 193 to your heart, so that you will warn (the people of the dangers of disobeying God). 194 in a clear, Arabic tongue. 195 Truly it is in the Scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not evidence enough for them that the learned among the Children of Israel have recognized this [as true]? 197 Had We revealed it to a non-Arab 198 So that he should have recited it to them, they would not have believed therein. 199 Thus have We caused it to enter the hearts of the sinners. 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 So that it will come upon them suddenly, when they perceive not. 202 Then will they say: "Can we be given respite?" 203 So do they wish to hasten Our punishment? 204 Hast thou then seen, if We content them for (long) years, 205 Then there comes to them that with which they are threatened, 206 They would not be availed by the enjoyment with which they were provided. 207 And We did not destroy any city except that it had warners 208 By way of reminder, and We have never been unjust. 209 The devils did not bring it down: 210 it behoves them not, neither are they able. 211 Verily, they have been removed far from hearing it. 212 So do not call on any deity besides God, lest you incur His punishment. 213 And warn thy tribe of near kindred, 214 and be meek to the believers who follow you. 215 But if they disobey you, then say: Surely I am clear of what you do. 216 And put thy trust in the Mighty, the Merciful. 217 who sees you when you stand 218 and when you turn among those who prostrate themselves. 219 He is All-hearing and All-knowing." 220 Should I tell you to whom the satans come? 221 They descend on every lying sinner, 222 They incline their ears, and most of them are liars. 223 As for poets, the erring follow them. 224 Do you not see that in every valley they roam 225 and preaching what they themselves never practice. 226 Except those who believe and do good and remember Allah much, and defend themselves after they are oppressed; and they who act unjustly shall know to what final place of turning they shall turn back. 227
