Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
A. L. M. 1 These are the verses of the Book of wisdom, 2 for a guidance and a mercy to the good-doers 3 who perform the prayer, and pay the alms, and have sure faith in the Hereafter. 4 Such are on guidance from their Lord, and such are the successful. 5 And of men is he who takes instead frivolous discourse to lead astray from Allah's path without knowledge, and to take it for a mockery; these shall have an abasing chastisement. 6 And when Our revelations are recited unto him he turneth away in pride as if he heard them not, as if there were a deafness in his ears. So give him tidings of a painful doom. 7 Indeed those who believed and did good deeds – for them are Gardens of serenity. 8 They will abide in them for ever. The promise of God is true; and He is all-mighty and all-wise. 9 He hath created the heavens without supports that ye can see, and hath cast into the earth firm hills, so that it quake not with you; and He hath dispersed therein all kinds of beasts. And We send down water from the sky and We cause (plants) of every goodly kind to grow therein. 10 This is the creation of Allah. So show Me that which those (whom you worship), besides Him have created. Nay, the Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers and those who do not believe in the Oneness of Allah) are in plain error. 11
