And indeed We have created man, and We know what his ownself whispers to him. And We are nearer to him than his jugular vein (by Our Knowledge). 16 When the two angels meet together, sitting one on the right, and one on the left, 17 each word he utters shall be noted down by a vigilant guardian. 18 And the stupor of death will come in truth: "This is what you have been avoiding!" 19 And the trumpet will be blown: this is the Day of the Threatening. 20 And there shall come every soul therewith shall be a driver and a witness. 21 Assuredly thou wast in neglect thereof; now We have removed from off thee thy veil, so thy sight Today is piercing. 22 And his accompanying angel said, “This is the record of your deeds, available with me.” 23 [Whereupon God will command:] "Cast, cast into hell every [such] stubborn enemy of the truth, 24 Hinderer of good, transgressor, doubter, 25 Who made [as equal] with Allah another deity; then throw him into the severe punishment." 26 ۞ Man's other self' will say: "O our Sustainer! It was not I that led his conscious mind into evil [nay,] but it had gone far astray [of its own accord]! 27 He will say: "Dispute not with each other in My Presence: I had already in advance sent you Warning. 28 The Sentence that comes from Me cannot be changed, and I am not unjust (to the least) to the slaves." 29
