Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Alif-Lam-Meem. (Alphabets of the Arabic language – Allah, and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 These are the verses of the Book of wisdom. 2 a guidance and mercy for the doers of good, 3 who establish Prayer and pay Zakah, and have firm faith in the Hereafter. 4 These are on guidance from their Lord, and these! they are the blissful ones. 5 But there are, among men, those who purchase idle tales, without knowledge (or meaning), to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah and throw ridicule (on the Path): for such there will be a Humiliating Penalty. 6 When Our Signs are rehearsed to such a one, he turns away in arrogance, as if he heard them not, as if there were deafness in both his ears: announce to him a grievous Penalty. 7 Surely those who believe and do good deeds shall have Gardens of Bliss. 8 They shall abide in them forever. This is Allah's promise that shall come true. He is the Most Powerful, the Most Wise. 9 He created the heavens without any pillars that ye can see; He set on the earth mountains standing firm, lest it should shake with you; and He scattered through it beasts of all kinds. We send down rain from the sky, and produce on the earth every kind of noble creature, in pairs. 10 Such is the creation of Allah; now show me what, other than Him, created! No, the harmdoers are in clear error. 11
