In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
AlifLaamMeem. 1 These are Verses of the Wise Book,- 2 A guidance and mercy for the righteous 3 who establish the prayer, pay the obligatory charity, and firmly believe in the Everlasting Life. 4 It is they who follow the guidance [that comes to them] from their Sustainer; and it is they, they who shall attain to a happy state! 5 Some men there are who buy diverting talk to lead astray from the way of God without knowledge, and to take it in mockery; those -- there awaits them a humbling chastisement. 6 And when Our signs are recited to such a man he turns away, waxing proud, as though he heard them not, and in his ears were heaviness; so give him good tidings of a painful chastisement. 7 The righteously striving believers will enter Paradise 8 Therein they will be abiders: a true promise of Allah. And He is the Mighty, the Wise. 9 He has created the skies without any support that you could see, and has placed firm mountains upon the earth, lest it sway with you, and has caused all manner of living creatures to multiply thereon. And We sent down water from the skies, and thus We made every kind of excellent plant grow there: 10 This is the Creation of Allah. Now show me that which those (ye worship) beside Him have created. Nay, but the wrong-doers are in error manifest! 11

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
