And a sign to them is the dead earth: We give life to it and bring forth from it grain so they eat of it. 33 And We place therein gardens of the date-palms and vines; and We therein cause to gush forth springs. 34 so that they may consume the fruits and whatever their hands prepare. Will they not then be grateful? 35 Glory be to Him Who created all the sexual pairs, of that which the earth groweth, and of themselves, and of that which they know not! 36 Of the signs for them is how We separated the day from the night and thus they remained in darkness; 37 And [they have a sign in] the sun: it runs in an orbit of its own [and] that is laid down by the will of the Almighty, the All-Knowing; 38 And the moon - We have determined for it phases, until it returns [appearing] like the old date stalk. 39 The sun shall not outstrip the moon, nor shall the night outstrip the day. Each is floating in an orbit. 40 And an Ayah (sign) for them is that We bore their offspring in the laden ship [of Nuh (Noah)]. 41 We have created for them the like of it in which they ride. 42 And if We should will, We could drown them; then no one responding to a cry would there be for them, nor would they be saved 43 Unless by mercy from Us and as comfort for a while. 44 And [yet,] when they are told, "Beware of [God's insight into] all that lies open before you and all that is hidden from you, so that you might be graced with His mercy," [most men choose to remain deaf;] 45 and no message of their Sustainer's messages ever reaches them without their turning away from it. 46 When they are told to spend for the cause of God out of what He has provided for them for their sustenance, the disbelievers say to the believers, "Should we feed those whom God has decided to feed? You are in plain error." 47 And they say, “When will this promise be fulfilled, if you are truthful?” 48 They await just one scream, which will overcome them while they are involved in worldly disputes. 49 So they shall not be able to make a bequest, nor shall they return to their families. 50
