The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those [angels] who range themselves in close ranks 1 By the angels driving away. 2 and those who recite the Remembrance 3 Verily your God is One, 4 the Lord of the heavens and the earth and of whatever lies between the two, the Lord of the Easts. 5 Surely We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment, the stars, 6 to protect them from the rebellious satan. 7 [so that] they [who seek to learn the unknowable] should not be able to overhear the host on high, but shall be repelled from all sides, 8 and are repelled. Theirs is an unceasing chastisement. 9 except such as snatches a fragment, and he is pursued by a piercing flame. 10 Ask them thou: are they stronger in structure or those others whom We have created? Verily We! We have created them of a sticky clay. 11 But you wonder, while they mock, 12 And when they are admonished, they receive not admonition. 13 When they see a sign, they laugh at it, 14 And they say: This is nothing but clear magic: 15 “When we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, will we certainly be raised again?” 16 Or our fathers of yore? 17 Say, "Yes, and you will be [rendered] contemptible." 18 There is but one Shout, and lo! they behold, 19 And say: Ah, woe for us! This is the Day of Judgment. 20 “Yes, this is the Day of Final Decision that you used to deny as a lie.” 21
