The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I swear by those who draw themselves out in ranks 1 and restraining [from evil] by a call to restraint, 2 and those who recite the Exhortation; 3 Most surely your Allah is One: 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is in-between the twain, and Lord of the easts. 5 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the stars 6 a protection against every rebel satan; 7 The devils cannot hear those high above. They would be struck from all sides 8 With a driving fusillade, and theirs shall be a torment perpetual; 9 Save him who snatcheth a fragment, and there pursueth him a piercing flame. 10 So, ask those who deny the truth if it was harder to create them than all the other things We have created? We created them from sticky clay. 11 No, you marvel, while they scoff. 12 And when they are reminded, they mind not, 13 and whenever they see some sign, they ridicule it, 14 saying, "This is plain sorcery!" 15 They say, "Shall we be brought to life again after we die and turn into dust and bones? 16 "And also our fathers of old?" 17 Say, "Yes, and you will be [rendered] contemptible." 18 The Day of Judgment will come within a single roar and they will remain gazing at it. 19 And they shall say: O woe to us! this is the day of requital. 20 (A voice will say,) "This is the Day of Sorting Out, whose truth ye (once) denied!" 21
