۞ Gather together those who were unjust and their associates, and what they used to worship 22 Beside Allah, and lead them on to the path of the Flaming Fire. 23 and stop them there for questioning: 24 How is it that you are not helping one another? 25 In fact, on that day they will be submissive. 26 And some of them shall advance towards others, questioning each other. 27 They say: Lo! ye used to come unto us, imposing, (swearing that ye spoke the truth). 28 They will say: "No, you were the ones who would not believe. 29 We had no power over you, but ye were wayward folk. 30 So on us hath been justified the sentence of our Lord: verily we are to taste. 31 We led you astray as we were ourselves astray." 32 On that day they will all share the torment. 33 Certainly, that is how We deal with Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, the disobedient to Allah, etc.). 34 When they were told, "There is no deity but God," they turned away with disdain, 35 and said, "Should we give up our idols for the sake of an insane poet". 36 Rather, the Prophet has come with the truth and confirmed the [previous] messengers. 37 Verily ye are going to taste a torment afflictive. 38 and not be recompensed, except according to what you were doing.' 39 Except the chosen creatures of God, 40 For them is a Sustenance determined, 41 Fruits; and they shall be honoured, 42 in the Gardens of Bliss, 43 On couches, facing one another. 44 There will be circulated among them a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring, 45 White, delicious to the drinkers, 46 Wherein there is no headache nor are they made mad thereby. 47 And besides them will be chaste women, restraining their glances, with big eyes (of wonder and beauty). 48 As if they were eggs, safely hidden. 49 Then some of them will turn to others, and will ask each other. 50 A speaker among them will say, "Indeed, I had a companion [on earth] 51 Who would say, 'Are you indeed of those who believe 52 When we are dead and have become dust and bones, are we indeed going to be requited? 53 (The man) said: "Will you look down?" 54 Then he looks, and sees him in the midst of Hell. 55 He will say to his friend in hell, "By God, you almost destroyed me. 56 And but for the favour of my lord, I should have been of those brought forward. 57 Then, are we not to die 58 "Except our first death, and we shall not be punished? (after we have entered Paradise)." 59 Most surely this is the mighty achievement. 60 for which one must strive hard. 61 Is this not a better reward than the tree of Zaqqum 62 Indeed, We have made it a torment for the wrongdoers. 63 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-Fire: 64 and its fruits are like the heads of devils. 65 Truly they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 And afterward, lo! thereupon they have a drink of boiling water 67 Then shall their return be to the (Blazing) Fire. 68 These are the ones who found their fathers steeped in error, 69 So they hastily follow their footsteps! 70 And verily most of the men of old went astray before them, 71 And indeed We sent among them warners (Messengers); 72 Then see what was the end of those who were warned (but heeded not). 73 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 74
