۞ But We shall say, "Assemble those who did wrong together with their associates and what they worshipped 22 Beside Allah, and lead them on to the path of the Flaming Fire. 23 And detain them, for they will be questioned." 24 "'What is the matter with you that ye help not each other?'" 25 Nay, but on that Day they would willingly surrender [to God]; 26 They will turn upon one another, and question one another. 27 They will say: "It was you who used to come to us from the right side [i.e. from the right side of one of us and beautify for us every evil, order us for polytheism, and stop us from the truth i.e. Islamic Monotheism and from every good deed]." 28 But they reply: 'Rather, you were not believers. 29 We had no authority over you, in fact, you were a rebellious people. 30 and so we became deserving of the Word of our Lord that we shall be made to suffer chastisement. 31 We seduced you astray; verily we were ourselves the seduced ones. 32 Therefore, on that Day they will all share Our punishment. 33 This is how We deal with the guilty. 34 For when it was said unto them, There is no Allah save Allah, they were scornful 35 and said, "Should we give up our idols for the sake of an insane poet". 36 In fact he has brought the Truth, and testified for the Noble Messengers! 37 Ye shall indeed taste of the Grievous Penalty;- 38 And you shall not be rewarded except (for) what you did. 39 But the chosen servants of God; 40 Whose provision is predetermined -- 41 Fruits; and they will be honoured. 42 In gardens of delight, 43 On thrones, facing each other. 44 There will be circulated among them a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring, 45 Crystal-white, of a taste delicious to those who drink (thereof), 46 No headiness there shall be therein, nor shall they be therewith inebriated. 47 And with them will be women limiting [their] glances, with large, [beautiful] eyes, 48 (Pure) as they were hidden eggs (of the ostrich). 49 And some of them draw near unto others, mutually questioning. 50 One of them will start the talk and say: "I had an intimate companion (on the earth), 51 "Who used to say, 'what! art thou amongst those who bear witness to the Truth (of the Message)? 52 What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then be certainly brought to judgment? 53 And he will reply: 'Are you looking down (into Hell)' 54 Then he will look down and see him in the midst of the Flaming Fire. 55 He will say to him: -- By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 “And were it not for the munificence of my Lord, I too would have been seized and brought forth (captive)!” 57 He will ask his companion, "Did you not say that there would only be one death 58 "Except our first death, and that we shall not be punished?" 59 This will indeed be great happiness. 60 For the like of this let all strive, who wish to strive. 61 Is this a better hospitality or the tree of AzZakkum! 62 which We have made as a test for the wrongdoers. 63 Indeed it is a tree that sprouts from the base of hell. 64 Its fruit like the heads of demons. 65 Truly they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 Then on top of that they will be given a mixture made of boiling water. 67 then surely they shall return to Hell. 68 Verily, they found their fathers on the wrong path; 69 and they are running in their footsteps. 70 Before them a multitude of people of olden times had erred, 71 and We sent among them warners; 72 So behold what wise hath been the end of those who were warned. 73 Except the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, and true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 74

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
