۞ (It will be said to the angels): "Assemble those who did wrong, together with their companions (from the devils) and what they used to worship. 22 instead of God, and lead them all onto the way to the blazing fire, 23 And halt them so that they may be questioned. 24 "How is it that [now] you cannot succour one another?" 25 Nay! on that day they shall be submissive. 26 And they will approach one another blaming each other. 27 Saying: "It were you who imposed yourselves upon us." 28 The oppressors will say, "Rather, you [yourselves] were not believers, 29 "Nor had we any authority over you. Nay, it was ye who were a people in obstinate rebellion! 30 So our Lord's Word is realised against us; we are tasting it. 31 And we led you to deviation; indeed, we were deviators." 32 So indeed they, that Day, will be sharing in the punishment. 33 Surely thus do We deal with the guilty. 34 They were the ones, who on being told, "God is only One," become puffed-up with pride 35 And they used to say, “Shall we forsake our Gods upon the sayings of a mad poet?” 36 Nay! he has come with the (very) Truth, and he confirms (the Message of) the messengers (before him). 37 (They will be told), "You will certainly suffer the painful torment 38 And you will be requited nothing except for what you used to do (evil deeds, sins, and Allah's disobedience which you used to do in this world); 39 But the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah,- 40 For them there is a known provision, 41 Fruits; and they shall be honoured, 42 In Gardens of Felicity, 43 On couches facing one another; 44 There will be circulated among them a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring, 45 Clear, delicious to drink, 46 Wherein there is no headache nor are they made mad thereby. 47 And besides them will be chaste women, restraining their glances, with big eyes (of wonder and beauty). 48 As if they were (delicate) eggs closely guarded. 49 Then they will advance unto each other, mutually questioning. 50 One of them will say, "I had a companion who asked me, 51 Who would say, 'Are you indeed of those who believe 52 When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, shall we be recompensed?" 53 [And] he adds: "Would you like to look [and see him]?" 54 He will look down and see him in hell. 55 He will say, "By God! You almost brought me to ruin! 56 And had it not been for the favor of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those brought up. 57 (Another will say:)"Is it true, we are not going to die 58 except our first death, and shall we not be punished' 59 “This is, most certainly, the supreme success.” 60 For the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is this not a better reward than the tree of Zaqqum 62 Verily, We have caused it to be a trial for evildoers: 63 Lo! it is a tree that springeth in the heart of hell. 64 The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of devils: 65 The dwellers of hell will eat that fruit and fill-up their bellies. 66 Then on top of that they will be given a mixture made of boiling water. 67 Then their return will be to the same blazing Hell. 68 They had indeed found their forefathers astray. 69 So they hastened [to follow] in their footsteps. 70 And assuredly many of the ancients went astray before them, 71 And certainly We sent among them warners. 72 See how terrible was the end of those who were warned. 73 Except the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, and true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 74
