Noah cried to Us, and how excellent was Our response! 75 And We delivered him and his followers from the mighty distress. 76 and made his offspring the only ones to survive, 77 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 78 "Peace be upon Noah throughout all the worlds!" 79 Thus indeed do we reward those who do right. 80 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 81 Then We drowned the other (disbelievers and polytheists, etc.). 82 ۞ Abraham was of the same faith: 83 When he came to his Lord with a pure heart, 84 When he said to his father (paternal uncle) and his people, “What do you worship?” 85 Would you serve false deities instead of God? 86 what, then, is your opinion of the Lord of the worlds? 87 He looked up at the stars. 88 And he said: verily I am about to be sick. 89 So they turned away from him, and departed. 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said: 'What do you eat? 91 What aileth you that ye speak not? 92 Then he started striking them down with his right hand. 93 His people came rushing towards him, 94 He said: 'Do you worship what you, yourselves have carved 95 "When God has created you and what you make?" 96 They said, "Construct for him a furnace and throw him into the burning fire." 97 And they designed a snare for him, but We made them the undermost. 98 And [then] he said, "Indeed, I will go to [where I am ordered by] my Lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord, give me one of the righteous.' 100 So We gave him the glad tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 And when he became capable of working with him, Ibrahim said, “O my son, I dreamt that I am sacrificing you – therefore now consider what is your opinion”; he said, “O my father! Do what you are commanded! Allah willing, you will soon find me patiently enduring!” 102 When they both agreed and Abraham had lain down his son on the side of his face (for slaughtering), 103 We called to him, "O Abraham, 104 thou hast already fulfilled [the purpose of] that dream-vision!" Thus, verily, do We reward the doers of good: 105 Indeed, this was the clear trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice: 107 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations (to come) in later times: 108 'Peace be upon Abraham' 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good 110 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 111 Then, We gave him the glad tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous, 112 and We blessed him and Isaac: but among the offspring of these two there were [destined] to be both doers of good and such as would glaringly sin against themselves. 113
