3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
And Noah verily prayed unto Us, and gracious was the Hearer of his prayer 75 We saved him and his people from great distress, 76 and made his offspring the only ones to survive, 77 We perpetuated his praise in later generations. 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the nations. 79 This is how We reward the virtuous. 80 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 81 We drowned all the others (besides Noah and his people). 82 ۞ Of his party was also Abraham; 83 When he came to his Lord with a sound heart 84 Recall what time he said unto his father and his people: What is it that ye worship? 85 “What! You desire, through fabrication, Gods other than Allah?” 86 What, then, do you think of the Sustainer of all the worlds?" 87 He looked up at the stars. 88 And he said: verily I am about to be sick. 89 And they turned their backs on him and went away. (The pagans thought he would transmit the disease). 90 Thereupon he approached their gods stealthily and said, "What! You do not eat [of the offerings placed before you]? 91 What ails you, that you speak not?' 92 He struck them with his right hand. 93 So they (people) advanced towards him, hastening. 94 He said, "Do you worship that which you [yourselves] carve, 95 And Allah has created you and what you make. 96 They said, 'Build him a building, and cast him into the furnace!' 97 So they contrived a plot against him, but We made them abject. 98 And he said: verily I am going to my Lord who will guide me. 99 My Lord! Vouchsafe me of the righteous. 100 So We gave him the good news of a clement son. 101 And when (his son) was old enough to walk with him, (Abraham) said: O my dear son, I have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice thee. So look, what thinkest thou? He said: O my father! Do that which thou art commanded. Allah willing, thou shalt find me of the steadfast. 102 But as soon as the two had surrendered themselves to [what they thought to be] the will of God, and [Abraham] had laid him down on his face, 103 We called to him, "O Abraham, 104 you have fulfilled the dream." It is thus indeed that We reward those who do good, 105 Verily that! that was a trial manifest. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty victim. 107 and perpetuated his praise in later generations. 108 'Peace be upon Abraham' 109 Thus, do We reward the righteous ones. 110 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaque (Isaac) a Prophet from the righteous. 112 We had blessed him and Isaac. Some of their offspring were righteous and others were openly unjust to themselves. 113
