Noah called for help. How blessed was the answer which he received. 75 And We delivered him and his followers from the mighty distress. 76 And his offspring! them We made the survivors. 77 We left mention of him among later generations. 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all beings!' 79 Verily, thus do We reward the doers of good 80 Surely he was one of Our truly believing servants. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ And lo! of his persuasion verily was Abraham 83 When he came to his Lord with a pure heart, 84 and asked his father and his people, "What is that you worship? 85 “What! You desire, through fabrication, Gods other than Allah?” 86 what, then, is your opinion of the Lord of the worlds? 87 He then shot a glance at the stars. 88 And said, "I am sick," 89 And they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Then did he turn to their gods and said, "will ye not eat (of the offerings before you)?... 91 Why do you not speak?" 92 Then he started striking them down with his right hand. 93 Then the people came toward him, hastening. 94 He said: worship ye that which ye carve. 95 and God created you and what you make?' 96 They said, "Build him a furnace, and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 So they tried to execute their evil scheme upon him – We therefore degraded them. (Allah saved him, by commanding the fire to turn cool). 98 And [then] he said, "Indeed, I will go to [where I am ordered by] my Lord; He will guide me. 99 "O my Lord! Grant me a righteous (son)!" 100 We therefore gave him the glad tidings of an intelligent son. 101 And when (his son) was old enough to walk with him, (Abraham) said: O my dear son, I have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice thee. So look, what thinkest thou? He said: O my father! Do that which thou art commanded. Allah willing, thou shalt find me of the steadfast. 102 When they had both submitted to God, and he had laid his son down on his face, 103 We cried unto him: O Ibrahim 104 Of a surety thou hast fulfilled the vision. Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 105 That was indeed a trying test. 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, 107 And We perpetuated (praise) to him among the later generations. 108 "Peace upon Abraham." 109 Verily We! thus We compense the well-doers. 110 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 111 And [in time] We gave him the glad tiding of Isaac, [who, too, would be] a prophet, one of the righteous; 112 We blessed him and Isaac: but of their progeny are (some) that do right, and (some) that obviously do wrong, to their own souls. 113
