Noah had called upon Us (earlier). See, how excellent We were in answering him! 75 And We delivered him and his followers from the mighty distress. 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 And left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the nations. 79 Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 80 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 81 We then drowned the others. 82 ۞ Verily among those who followed his Way was Abraham. 83 When he came unto his Lord with a whole heart; 84 When he said unto his father and his folk: What is it that ye worship? 85 It is falsehood that you desire gods other than Allah! 86 "Then what is your idea about the Lord of the worlds?" 87 Then he cast a glance at the stars, 88 Then said: Lo! I feel sick! 89 So they went away from him, turning back. 90 Then turned he to their gods and said: Will ye not eat? 91 What ails you, that you speak not?' 92 Then he slipped unto them striking them with the right hand. 93 So they (people) advanced towards him, hastening. 94 He said, 'Do you serve what you hew, 95 when it is Allah who created you and all that you do' 96 They said, “Construct a building (furnace) for him, and then cast him in the blazing fire!” 97 So they plotted a plot against him, but We made them the lowest. 98 (Abraham) said, "I will go to my Lord who will guide me". 99 “My Lord! Give me a meritorious child.” 100 (In response to this prayer) We gave him the good news of a prudent boy; 101 And when he reached the age when he could work with him, he said, "O my son, I have seen in a dream that I am sacrificing you. So tell me what you think of it!" He replied, "O my father, do as you are commanded; and God willing, you will find me steadfast." 102 When they both agreed and Abraham had lain down his son on the side of his face (for slaughtering), 103 We cried unto him: O Ibrahim 104 "Thou hast already fulfilled the vision!" - thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 105 Lo! that verily was a clear test. 106 And We ransomed him with a tremendous sacrifice, 107 and left him thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among later generations: 108 Peace be on Abraham. 109 Verily We! thus We compense the well-doers. 110 he was among Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the good news of Isaac, a Prophet and among the righteous ones. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among the offspring of the two some did good and some plainly wronged themselves. 113
