And indeed, [it was for this reason that] Noah cried unto Us - and how excellent was Our response: 75 And We rescued him and his family from the great distress (i.e. drowning), 76 And, his progeny, them We made the survivors (i.e. Shem, Ham and Japheth). 77 And We left for him among the posterity. 78 "Peace and salutation to Noah among the nations!" 79 Verily, thus do We reward the doers of good 80 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 81 Then We did drown the others. 82 ۞ Of his party was also Abraham; 83 when he came unto his Lord with a pure heart, 84 and [thus] spoke to his father and his people: "What is it that you worship? 85 Is it a falsehood - gods beside Allah - that ye desire? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the Worlds' 87 Then he cast a glance at the stars (to deceive them), 88 And said: "I am sick (of what you worship)!" 89 So turning their backs, they went away from him. 90 and he turned to their idols and asked them, "Do you eat? 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he turned upon them, striking (them) with (his) right hand. 93 Thereupon the people came running to him. 94 He said, 'Do you serve what you hew, 95 when it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" 96 They said: Build for him a building and fling him in the red-hotfire. 97 So they plotted a plot against him, but We made them the lowest. 98 And he said: "I am going away to my Lord who will show me the way. 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 We therefore gave him the glad tidings of an intelligent son. 101 And, when he (his son) was old enough to walk with him, he said: "O my son! I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering you (offer you in sacrifice to Allah), so look what you think!" He said: "O my father! Do that which you are commanded, Insha' Allah (if Allah will), you shall find me of As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.)." 102 Then, when they had both surrendered (to Allah), and he had flung him down upon his face, 103 We called to him, saying: 'O Abraham, 104 Thou hast already fulfilled the vision. Lo! thus do We reward the good. 105 This is indeed the manifest trial.' 106 So, We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations (to come) in later times: 108 Peace be upon Ibrahim! 109 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 110 truly, he was one of Our faithful servants. 111 So We gave him the good news of Isaac, apostle, who is among the righteous. 112 And We showered Our blessings on him and on Ishaq; and of their offspring are the doers of good, and (also) those who are clearly unjust to their own souls. 113
