Noah cried to Us, and how excellent was Our response! 75 And We delivered him and his people from the Great Calamity, 76 And, his progeny, them We made the survivors (i.e. Shem, Ham and Japheth). 77 We perpetuated his praise in later generations. 78 Peace and salutation to Nuh among the nations. 79 That is how We recompense the righteous: 80 Verily he was of Our bondmen believing. 81 Then We drowned the disbelievers. 82 ۞ Of his party was Abraham. 83 When he came to his Lord, with a sound heart. (Free from falsehood). 84 and when he said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship? 85 Is it a falsehood - gods beside Allah - that ye desire? 86 What then is your opinion of the Lord of the Worlds? 87 He cast a glance at the stars 88 And said, "Indeed, I am [about to be] ill." 89 and at that they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 Then he turned to their aliha (gods) and said: "Will you not eat (of the offering before you)? 91 "What is the matter with you that ye speak not (intelligently)?" 92 And he turned upon them striking them with the right hand. 93 whereupon people came to him running. 94 He said, "How can you worship what you yourselves have carved 95 "But Allah has created you and your handwork!" 96 They said, “Construct a building (furnace) for him, and then cast him in the blazing fire!” 97 And they devised a plot for him, but We made them the humble. 98 And he said: Lo! I am going unto my Lord Who will guide me. 99 My Lord! Bestow on me a son who will be of the righteous. 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy, possessing forbearance. 101 And when he attained the age of running with him, he said: O my son! verily I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering thee; so look, what considerest thou? He said: O my father! do that which thou art commanded; thou shalt find me, Allah willing, of the patients. 102 When they had both submitted to God, and he had laid his son down on his face, 103 We cried out: “O Abraham, 104 You have indeed shown the truth of the vision; surely thus do We reward the doers of good: 105 Indeed this was a clear test. 106 So, We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations (to come) in later times: 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 Verily We! thus We compense the well-doers. 110 He is truly among Our faithful creatures. 111 So We gave him the good news of Isaac, apostle, who is among the righteous. 112 We had blessed him and Isaac. Some of their offspring were righteous and others were openly unjust to themselves. 113
