We were indeed gracious to Moses and Aaron, 114 And We saved them and their people from the great affliction, 115 And We helped them, so that they were the victors; 116 We granted them a Clear Book, 117 And guided them to the Straight Path. 118 And left (their remembrance) for posterity. 119 "Peace be upon Moses and Aaron!" 120 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 121 truly they were among Our faithful servants. 122 And verily, Iliyas (Elias) was one of the Messengers. 123 when he said to his people, 'Will you not be godfearing? 124 Do you call on Baal and abandon the Best of Creators, 125 “Allah – Who is your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers?” 126 But they gave him the lie: and therefore they will most surely be arraigned [on Judgment Day,] 127 except for God's sincere servants; 128 And We left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations (to come) in later times; 129 "Peace and salutation to such as Elias!" 130 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers, who perform good deeds totally for Allah's sake only - see V. 2:112). 131 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 132 And lo! Lot verily was of those sent (to warn). 133 When We saved him and his household, every one, 134 Except an old woman (who was) amongst those who tarried. 135 and then We utterly destroyed the others: 136 You pass by (their habitations) in the morning 137 And at night; do you not then understand? 138
