We were indeed gracious to Moses and Aaron, 114 and We delivered both of them and their people from the great calamity. 115 And We succoured them so that they became overcomers. 116 And We gave them the explicit Scripture, 117 And showed them the straight path, 118 and left for them among the later folk 119 "Peace be upon Moses and Aaron!" 120 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 121 They were two of Our believing servants. 122 Elias was certainly a Messenger. 123 He asked his people: 'Do you not fear (Allah)? 124 Do you call upon Baal and forsake the Best of the Creators? 125 "Allah, your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers?" 126 But they denied him, so they surely will be haled forth (to the doom) 127 Except the chosen slaves of Allah. 128 And We perpetuated to him (praise) among the later generations. 129 "Peace be upon Elijah and his followers!" 130 This is how We reward the virtuous. 131 He was among Our believing worshipers. 132 And Lot too was one of the Messengers. 133 When We saved him and his family, all, 134 Except an old woman who was one of those who stayed behind. 135 Then We utterly destroyed the rest of them. 136 And lo! ye verily pass by (the ruin of) them in the morning 137 and night: will you not take heed? 138
