Hizb 46
< random >
And, verily, Yunus (Jonah) was one of the Messengers. 139 When he ran to the laden ship, 140 And he drew lots and was among the losers. 141 Then he was swallowed by a large fish as he was worthy of blame. 142 And were he not one of those who praise. 143 He would have stayed in its belly till the day the dead are raised. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on to the vacant surface of the earth while he was sick. 145 And We caused to grow, over him, a spreading plant of the gourd kind. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand, rather they exceeded. 147 So they accepted faith We therefore gave them usage for a while. 148 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him), whether the daughters are for your Lord and the sons for them! 149 Or created We the angels females while they were present? 150 Now surely it is of their own lie that they say: 151 Allah hath begotten. Allah! verily they tell a lie. 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 What is [wrong] with you? How do you make judgement? 154 Will ye not then be admonished? 155 Or have you clear evidence? 156 Then produce your writ, if ye are truthful. 157 And they have claimed between Him and the jinn a lineage, but the jinn have already known that they [who made such claims] will be brought to [punishment]. 158 God is too glorious to be described as they describe Him 159 except the servants of God, sincere and devoted. 160 for, verily, neither you [blasphemers] nor the objects of your worship 161 can cause anyone to fall prey to your temptation 162 except him who shall roast in Hell. 163 [The angels say], "Every single one of us has his place assigned: 164 We stand in ranks (for prayer) 165 And we are most surely they who declare the glory (of Allah). 166 And they surely were wont to say: 167 "If we had a message from [those of] the former peoples, 168 we would have been sincere worshipers of Allah' 169 But they disbelieved in it; soon they shall know! 170 And indeed Our Word has already gone forth for Our bondmen who were sent. 171 that they shall certainly be succoured, 172 And that Our forces,- they surely must conquer. 173 So, (O Prophet), leave them alone for a while, 174 And see them thou; they themselves shall presently see. 175 Do they, then, [really] wish that Our chastisement be hastened on? 176 When it descends into their courtyard, it will be terrible for those who have already been warned. 177 Leave them alone for a while, 178 and see, soon they shall see! 179 Glory be to your Lord, the Lord of Honor, above what they describe. 180 And peace upon the messengers. 181 And praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds! 182
Almighty Allah's Truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
