S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Sad. CONSIDER this Qur'an, endowed with all that one ought to remember! 1 But the Unbelievers (are steeped) in self-glory and Separatism. 2 How many generations We have destroyed before them! And they cried out when it was too late to escape. 3 They are surprised that a warner should come to them from among themselves. They say, "This is a magician, a great liar. 4 "Has he made the gods (all) into one Allah? Truly this is a wonderful thing!" 5 Their assembly left (saying): 'Go, and be patient to your gods, this is something to be desired. 6 "We have not heard (the like) of this among the people of these later days. This is nothing but an invention! 7 Hath the reminder been unto him (alone) among us? Nay, but they are in doubt concerning My reminder; nay but they have not yet tasted My doom. 8 Do they possess the treasures of the mercy of your Lord, the Mighty, the Great Bestower? 9 Is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, for them? So would they not just ascend using ropes? 10 A defeated host are (all) the factions that are there. 11 Before them (were many who) rejected messengers,- the people of Noah, and 'Ad, and Pharaoh, the Lord of Stakes, 12 Thamood, the nation of Lot and the dwellers of the Thicket such were the confederates. 13 Not one of them but did deny the messengers, therefor My doom was justified, 14
