S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Sad. By the Koran, containing the Remembrance -- 1 No, the unbelievers exalt in their division. 2 How many a generation We destroyed before them, and they cried out when it was no longer the time for escape! 3 They wondered that a warner had come to them from among themselves, and the deniers of the Truth said: “This is a sorcerer, and a big liar. 4 What! makes he the gods a single Allah? A strange thing is this, to be sure! 5 And the eminent among them went forth, [saying], "Continue, and be patient over [the defense of] your gods. Indeed, this is a thing intended. 6 Never did we hear of [a claim like] this in any faith of latter days! It is nothing but [a mortal man's] invention! 7 "Has the Reminder been sent down to him (alone) from among us?" Nay! but they are in doubt about My Reminder (this Quran)! Nay, but they have not tasted (My) Torment! 8 Or do they hold the treasures of the mercy of your Lord, the Almighty, the Great Bestower? 9 Or is theirs the kingdom of the heavens and earth and of what between them is? Why, then let them ascend the cords! 10 (As they denied Allah's Message) they will be a defeated host like the confederates of the old times (who were defeated). 11 Before them the people of Noah, Ad, and Pharaoh of the tent-pegs gave the lie (to the Messengers) 12 So also did the people of Thamud, Lot, and the dwellers of the Forest. 13 Of all these there was not one who did not deny the messengers. So My retribution was justified. 14
