It was not in falsehood that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. That is the thought of the unbelievers. But woe to the unbelievers because of the Fire! 27 [For,] would We treat those who have attained to faith and do righteous deeds in the same manner as [We shall treat] those who spread corruption on earth? Would We treat the God-conscious in the same manner as the wicked? 28 This is the Blessed Book that We have revealed to you, (O Muhammad), that people with understanding may reflect over its verses and those with understanding derive a lesson. 29 We gave David Solomon. He was an excellent servant who always turned to God. 30 When they brought fleet-footed chargers in the evening to show him, 31 And he said, "Indeed, I gave preference to the love of good [things] over the remembrance of my Lord until the sun disappeared into the curtain [of darkness]." 32 Return them to me!' And he began to stroke their shanks and necks. 33 And assuredly We tried Sulaiman, and set upon his throne a mere body. Thereafter he was penitent. 34 He said, 'My Lord, forgive me, and give me a kingdom such as may not befall anyone after me; surely Thou art the All-giver.' 35 So We subjected the wind to him, so that it ran softly by his command wherever he wished; 36 And the unruly, every builder and diver (made We subservient), 37 And others fettered in chains. 38 "Such are Our Bounties: whether thou bestow them (on others) or withhold them, no account will be asked." 39 And he enjoyed, indeed, a Near Approach to Us, and a beautiful Place of (Final) Return. 40
