We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them without purpose, even though this is the belief of the disbelievers. Woe to the disbelievers; they will suffer the torment of fire 27 Shall We make those who believe and work righteous works like unto the corrupters in the earth; or shall We make the God-fearing like unto the wicked! 28 (Here is) a Book which We have sent down unto thee, full of blessings, that they may mediate on its Signs, and that men of understanding may receive admonition. 29 We bestowed Solomon on David who was an excellent devotee, for he turned to God in penitence. 30 [Mention] when there were exhibited before him in the afternoon the poised [standing] racehorses. 31 And he said, "Truly do I love the love of good, with a view to the glory of my Lord,"- until (the sun) was hidden in the veil (of night): 32 He said, "Bring them back to me." Then he started to rub their legs and necks. 33 We tested Solomon by (causing death to his son) and leaving his body on Solomon's chair. Then he turned to Us in repentance, 34 He said, "My Lord, forgive me and grant me a kingdom such as will not belong to anyone after me. Indeed, You are the Bestower." 35 So, We subjected to him the wind, it blew gently to his order whithersoever he willed, 36 and the Satans, every builder and diver 37 And many others bound in bond. 38 "Such are Our Bounties: whether thou bestow them (on others) or withhold them, no account will be asked." 39 In Our eyes he certainly has a high position and the best place to return. 40
