We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them without purpose, even though this is the belief of the disbelievers. Woe to the disbelievers; they will suffer the torment of fire 27 Shall We then treat alike those that believe and act righteously and those that create mischief on earth? Or treat alike the God-fearing and the wicked? 28 (This is) a Scripture that We have revealed unto thee, full of blessing, that they may ponder its revelations, and that men of understanding may reflect. 29 We bestowed Solomon on David who was an excellent devotee, for he turned to God in penitence. 30 When there were brought to him in the evening (horses) still when standing, swift when running-- 31 And he said: Lo! I have preferred the good things (of the world) to the remembrance of my Lord; till they were taken out of sight behind the curtain. 32 He then ordered, “Bring them back to me”; and he began caressing their shins and necks. 33 We surely tried Solomon, and placed another body on his throne. So he turned to God 34 He said: my Lord! forgive me, and bestow on me a dominion which no one may obtain beside me: verily Thou! Thou art the Bestower. 35 We subjected the wind to him, so that it blew gently at his bidding, wherever he directed it, 36 and the Satans, every builder and diver 37 And others bound in fetters. 38 "This is Our gift," (We said to him), "so bestow freely or withhold without reckoning." 39 In Our eyes he certainly has a high position and the best place to return. 40
