Do you not see how those who dispute God's signs, are turned away from the right path -- 69 those who reject the Book and that with which We sent Our messengers shall soon know -- 70 When carcans are about their necks and chains. They are dragged 71 into the boiling water and then are thrown into the Fire, 72 Then shall it be said to them: "Where are the (deities) to which ye gave part-worship- 73 Beside Allah? They will say: they have failed us; aye! we have not been calling upon aught afore. Thus doth Allah lead the infidels astray. 74 That is because you exulted in the land unjustly and because you behaved insolently. 75 Enter the gates of hell to live therein forever. How terrible is the dwelling of the arrogant ones. 76 So be patient [Prophet], for God's promise is true: whether We show you part of what We have promised them in this life, or cause you to die first, it is to Us that they will be recalled. 77 And indeed, [O Muhammad,] We sent forth apostles before thy time; some of them We have mentioned to thee, and some of them We have not mentioned to thee. And it was not given to any apostle to bring forth a miracle other than by God's leave. Yet when God's will becomes manifest, judgment will [already] have been passed in all justice, and lost will be, then and there, all who tried to reduce to nothing [whatever they could not understand]. 78
