In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Ha Mim. 1 A sending down from the Merciful, the Compassionate. 2 A Book whereof the verses are detailed; an Arabic Qur'an, for a people who know. 3 It contains glad news and warnings (for the people), but most of them have ignored it and do not listen. 4 And they say: our hearts are under veils from that whereunto thou callest us, and in our ears there is heaviness, and betwixt us and thee there is a curtain; work thou then, verily we are workers. 5 Say thou: "I am but a man like you: It is revealed to me by Inspiration, that your Allah is one Allah: so stand true to Him, and ask for His Forgiveness." And woe to those who join gods with Allah,- 6 who do not pay the zakat, and who deny the Hereafter. 7 [But,] verily, they who have attained to faith and do good works shall have a reward unending! 8
