Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
HA MIM. 1 This is a revelation from the Compassionate, the Merciful. 2 A Book whose verses have been distinguished and explained, a lucid discourse for people who understand, 3 It contains glad news and warnings (for the people), but most of them have ignored it and do not listen. 4 And they say, "Our hearts are within coverings from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a partition, so work; indeed, we are working." 5 Say thou: "I am but a man like you: It is revealed to me by Inspiration, that your Allah is one Allah: so stand true to Him, and ask for His Forgiveness." And woe to those who join gods with Allah,- 6 Those who do not give the obligatory charity, and who deny the Hereafter. 7 Surely those who believe, and do righteous deeds shall have a wage unfailing.' 8
