Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha Mim. 1 A sending down from the Merciful, the Compassionate. 2 A Book whose verses have been distinguished and explained, a lucid discourse for people who understand, 3 Giving good news and admonition: yet most of them turn away, and so they hear not. 4 And they say, “Our hearts are covered against the affair you call us to, and there is deafness in our ears, and there is a barrier between us and you – therefore mind your own business, we are minding ours.” 5 Say thou, [O Prophet:] "I am but a mortal like you. It has been revealed to me that your God is the One God: go, then, straight towards Him and seek His forgiveness!" And woe unto those who ascribe divinity to aught beside Him, 6 (To) those who do not give poor-rate and they are unbelievers in the hereafter. 7 (As for) those who believe and do good, they shall surely have a reward never to be cut off. 8
