Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Ha Mim. 1 By the Scripture which maketh plain, 2 We verily, have made it a Quran in Arabic, that you may be able to understand (its meanings and its admonitions). 3 And verily it is, in the Original Book before Us, indeed exalted. 4 Shall We then (warn you not and) take away the Reminder (this Quran) from you, because you are a people Musrifun 5 How many a prophet did We send among the men of old! 6 Yet never did a Prophet come to them but they mocked him. 7 So We destroyed far more powerful (nations) than they. The example of earlier people is there. 8 Yet thus it is [with most people]: if thou ask them, "Who is it that has created the heavens and the earth?" - they will surely answer, "The Almighty, the All-Knowing has created them." 9 The One Who made the earth a bed for you, and made roads for you in it, so that you may be guided. 10 It is He who has sent down water from the sky in a known measure by which He has given life to the dead earth. In the same way will you also be resurrected. 11 And He it is who has created all opposites. And He [it is who] has provided for you all those ships and animals whereon you ride, 12 so that you can sit upon their backs and then remember the Favors of your Lord and say: 'Exaltations to Him who has subjected these to us otherwise, we ourselves were not capable of it, 13 Surely we have to go back to our Lord." 14 And they appoint for Him from His bondmen a part! Verily man is an ingrate manifest. 15
