Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 By the Clear Book, 2 We verily, have made it a Quran in Arabic, that you may be able to understand (its meanings and its admonitions). 3 And indeed it is, in the Mother of the Book with Us, exalted and full of wisdom. 4 So shall We divert the advice away from you, because you are a nation that exceeds the limits? 5 How many Messengers did We send to the ancient people? 6 but whenever a prophet came to them, they mocked him, 7 Then We destroyed men mightier than these in prowess; and the example of the men of old hath gone (before them). 8 Yet if you were to ask them: “Who created the heavens and the earth?” they will certainly say: “The All-Mighty, the All-Knowing has created them.” 9 He who appointed the earth to be a cradle for you, and appointed ways for you therein, that haply you may be guided; 10 And He Who sends down water from the cloud according to a measure, then We raise to life thereby a dead country, even thus shall you be brought forth; 11 and who created the pairs, all of them, and appointed for you ships and cattle such as you ride, 12 So that when you sit astride of them and think of the bounties of your Lord, you may say: "All glory to Him who subjugated these for us. We were incapable of doing so. 13 And to our Lord we shall surely return." 14 Yet they attribute to some of His servants a share with Him (in his godhead)! truly is man a blasphemous ingrate avowed! 15
