Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Ha Mim. 1 By the manifest Book (that makes things clear, i.e. this Quran). 2 That We made it a distinctly lucid Qur'an that you may understand. 3 Truly, it is inscribed in the Original Book, in Our keeping; it is sublime and full of wisdom. 4 Shall We turn away the Remembrance from you because you are a sinful nation? 5 And how many a prophet We sent among the ancients. 6 no Prophet came to them except that they mocked him, 7 so We destroyed those who were mightier than these; such was the example of the earlier peoples. 8 Yet, if you ask them who created the heavens and the earth, they will answer: 'The Almighty, the Knower created them' 9 Who hath made for you the earth a bed, and hath made for you paths therein that haply ye may be directed. 10 And who sends down rain from the sky in measured amounts, and We revive thereby a dead land - thus will you be brought forth - 11 And, (it is He) who has created all the pairs and appointed for you ships and the cattle on which you ride, 12 In order that ye may sit firm and square on their backs, and when so seated, ye may celebrate the (kind) favour of your Lord, and say, "Glory to Him Who has subjected these to our (use), for we could never have accomplished this (by ourselves), 13 “And indeed we have to return to our Lord.” 14 And they appoint for Him from His bondmen a part! Verily man is an ingrate manifest. 15
