And he whose sight is dim to the remembrance of the Beneficent, We assign unto him a devil who becometh his comrade; 36 And indeed, the devils avert them from the way [of guidance] while they think that they are [rightly] guided 37 Till, when (such a one) comes to Us, he says [to his Qarin (Satan / devil companion)] "Would that between me and you were the distance of the two easts (or the east and west)" a worst (type of) companion (indeed)! 38 When ye have done wrong, it will avail you nothing, that Day, that ye shall be partners in Punishment! 39 CANST THOU, perchance, [O Muhammad,] make the deaf hear, or show the right way to the blind or to such as are obviously lost in error? 40 Even if We take you away from the world, We shall surely take vengeance on them 41 or We show you a part of that which We have promised them, for indeed We have power over them. 42 Therefore hold fast to that which has been revealed to you; surely you are on the right path. 43 The Quran is a reminder to you and to your people and you will soon be questioned about it. 44 Ask Our Messengers whom We sent before you if We have ever made gods, other than the Merciful, to be worshipped. 45
