And whoever turns himself away from the remembrance of the Beneficent Allah, We appoint for him a Shaitan, so he becomes his associate. 36 And verily they hinder them from the way, whilst they deem that they are rightly guided. 37 Till, when (such a one) comes to Us, he says [to his Qarin (Satan / devil companion)] "Would that between me and you were the distance of the two easts (or the east and west)" a worst (type of) companion (indeed)! 38 When ye have done wrong, it will avail you nothing, that Day, that ye shall be partners in Punishment! 39 Can you (O Muhammad SAW) make the deaf to hear, or can you guide the blind or him who is in manifest error? 40 Even if We take thee away, We shall be sure to exact retribution from them, 41 or We shall show you what We have promised them; for surely We have complete power over them. 42 So hold thou fast to that which is inspired in thee. Lo! thou art on a right path. 43 and, verily, this [revelation] shall indeed become [a source of] eminence for thee and thy people: but in time you all will be called to account [for what you have done with it]. 44 And ask those of Our messengers whom We sent before thee: Did We ever appoint gods to be worshipped beside the Beneficent? 45
