We rescued the Israelites from the humiliating torment 30 They (had experienced) under the Pharaoh. He was certainly a tyrant, guilty of excess. 31 and We chose them, out of a knowledge, above all beings, 32 And We gave them portents wherein was a clear trial. 33 Indeed these people say: 34 "There is not but our first death, and we will not be resurrected. 35 Bring then our fathers if ye say so. 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those who were before them whom We destroyed? Indeed they were sinners. 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, in play. 38 none of this have We created without [an inner] truth: but most of them understand it not. 39 Assuredly the Day of Decision is the term for all of them, 40 A Day whereon a friend shall not avail a friend at all, nor shall they be helped. 41 Save him on whom Allah hath mercy. Lo! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 42
