Muhammad (Muhammad)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
AS FOR THOSE who are bent on denying the truth and on barring [others] from the path of God - all their [good] deeds will He let go to waste; 1 And those who believe and do good works and believe in that which is revealed unto Muhammad - and it is the truth from their Lord - He riddeth them of their ill-deeds and improveth their state. 2 This is because the disbelievers have followed falsehood and the believers have followed the Truth from their Lord. Thus God explains to the human being their own prospects. 3 So when you meet those who disbelieve [in battle], strike [their] necks until, when you have inflicted slaughter upon them, then secure their bonds, and either [confer] favor afterwards or ransom [them] until the war lays down its burdens. That [is the command]. And if Allah had willed, He could have taken vengeance upon them [Himself], but [He ordered armed struggle] to test some of you by means of others. And those who are killed in the cause of Allah - never will He waste their deeds. 4 He will guide them and improve their condition. 5 And will admit them into gardens with which he has acquainted them. 6 Believers, if you help Allah, He will help you and strengthen your feet. 7 And those who disbelieve, downfall shall be theirs, and He shall send astray their works. 8 That is because they hated what Allah has sent down, so He annulled their deeds. 9 ۞ What, have they not journeyed in the land and beheld how was the end of those before them? God destroyed them; the unbelievers shall have the likes thereof. 10 This, because God is the Protector of all who have attained to faith, whereas they who deny the truth have no protector. 11
